The sixth annual Hunter Innovation Festival, (HIF) will be held across the month of May. The aim of the Festival is to connect some of the region's leading businesses and promote smarter, more innovative ways of doing business and to celebrate innovation and creativity throughout the Hunter.
HIF will showcase the Hunter's innovative products, services, equipment, technology, business practices and highly skilled and inventive workforce.
Alike the Australian Innovation Festival, the Hunter's 2013 Festival theme is “Return on Innovation”. It is designed to highlight the importance of innovation during this continuing period of regeneration from global economic uncertainty.
Many people equate the term “innovation” with having a long term R&D perspective, but of limited relevance to immediate business needs. More than ever, organisations need to “innovate” to meet the challenge of increased competition and ever changing consumer and market needs.
Innovation has a central role as the primary catalyst in building sustainable growth for any organisation.
The HIF will include a range of events, trade shows, innovation trails, seminars, expos and open days to showcase the unique and diverse innovation and intellectual capital that emanates from the Hunter.
